3 cups flour
5 tablespoons cocoa
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons cooking oil
2 tablespoons vinegar
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups cold water
Stir the dry ingredients together in a bowl. Add the liquid ingredients and beat until almost smooth. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.
I was wondering if this was for all purpose flour or whole wheat flour? Or could they be used interchangeably?

This recipe came with my Country Living Grain Mill and I have always used it with Whole Wheat Flour that we ground. My kids love it and my son has asked for it to be his Groom’s Cake at his wedding in a few days. I had misplaced my original copy of it and I am very glad to find it online.
