Potassium Iodate serves to saturate the thyroid gland with harmless elemental iodine, so that radioactive iodine in fallout will be dispelled from the body instead of taking up residence.
These high-grade potassium iodate tablets yield 50 mg. of elemental iodine per 85 mg. tablet. Each bottle comes with 200 tablets. A bottle is a 50 day supply for an adult, or a 100 day supply for a child under the age of twelve.
