Flour Power at 70 Miles Per Hour

Flour Power at 70 Miles Per Hour

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would be featured in Smithsonian Magazine.  However, serendipity can lead you onto wondrous new paths, or highways, just by pedaling the 'Country Living Grain Mill' like your life depends upon it.

    Mr. Jenkins,
Thank you. You are an inspiration to human imagination! Could you please share with the rest of us how you made your pedal powered machine. It would help me (and probably many others) put one together for my family and I. Please.

    Thank you.

    Hi Alex,

If you are grinding a hopper full of wheat (about 4 1/2 cups or almost 2 pounds), it will typically take about 25 to 30 minutes to grind a fine flour. If you adjust it to a more coarse setting, it won’t take that long. The result will be approximately 7 cups of flour. You can grind by hand, or if you motorize your mill it will take less time.

I hope that answers your question. Please let us know if we can be of further help.

    Amy
